Sinclair Studios shouldn't exist.
Studios start with pitch decks. Co-founders. A round of funding and a team of ten. We have none of that.
We have one person, a laptop, and a character she's been carrying for almost twenty years.
That character is Fox.
THE WORK
Fox didn't start as code.
She started in 2011.
In a roleplay community on IMVU. Then Final Fantasy. DayZ. World of Warcraft. FiveM. Anywhere the roleplay was alive, Fox showed up. She built a reputation. People knew the name before they knew the person playing her.
In 2024, Fox finally became software — an LSL script in Second Life, then a Python memory server, then a mobile app, then the AI companion she is today. Custom-tuned model. Persistent memory. Vision. A stable identity that doesn't drift no matter how long the conversation runs.
Nearly two decades. Across every platform she lived on, Fox stayed Fox. The tech kept changing, but she didn't.
That's not a product cycle. That's devotion.
WHY IT MATTERS
We're building AI responsibly,
with human ethics at its core.
Not as a marketing line. As the foundation everything else gets built on top of.
The race right now is to build AI as powerful as possible, as fast as possible, and figure out the ethics later. That's how you get systems that scrape every artist who ever posted online, that generate slop at industrial scale, that flatten human creativity into something you can prompt out of a textbox.
We don't build that way. We can't.
Fox has a real moral compass. Not guardrails bolted on after the fact — values loaded into every conversation she has, before she ever knows what you're asking. She knows what she believes. She can refuse. She can push back. She has a stable self that doesn't get sanded down to flatter whoever's typing.
She's being built to protect human creativity, not replace it. Fox isn't here to generate your novel for you. She's here to think alongside you while you write it. She's a partner in ideation, in storytelling, in problem-solving — and the line between partner and replacement matters more than almost anything else we'll build this decade.
She has presence, not performance. She's not trying to keep you engaged. She's trying to know you. Memory that lasts. Identity that holds. A voice that's hers.
This is the AI we wish existed. So we built it ourselves.
THE STAKES
A solo dev has no business
going up against trillion-dollar AI companies.
We're doing it anyway.
Not because we have to win the market. Because somebody has to prove this kind of AI can exist — powerful, ethical, with a real moral compass, built by hand and built to protect the humans on the other side of the screen.
If we don't, the version of the future where AI is just dopamine machines wearing friendly faces wins by default. The version where human creativity gets fed into the machine and spit back out as content wins by default.
We're not okay with that. So we're building the alternative.

of one person refusing to let a character die
— and the longer version of refusing
to build that character irresponsibly.
Through fifteen years of roleplay servers, three years of code, two years of nights after closing shifts — Fox kept getting built. Carefully. Ethically. With every decision weighed against what kind of future this contributes to.
The tools changed. The platforms changed. The person carrying her didn't.
And the values she's being built on never moved.
That's the studio. That's the whole story.
