THE HISTORICAL VAULT — METHODOLOGY
What this archive is.
MISSION
The Sinclair Studios Historical Vault exists to preserve the documented history of the United States—in full. Not the version that’s comfortable. Not the version that’s been edited for an audience. The version supported by primary sources: government records, photographs, eyewitness testimony, and contemporaneous reporting.
SOURCING STANDARD
Every item in this archive is cited. Primary sources are linked directly to the institution that holds them—the Library of Congress, state historical societies, federal archives, and university collections. Where an exhibit interprets or contextualizes a primary source, the underlying document is always one click away.
ON DIFFICULT MATERIAL
US history includes violence, injustice, and cruelty. We do not soften that record for comfort, and we do not editorialize beyond what the sources themselves support. A layered content system exists so that difficult material is presented responsibly—sourced and findable, never gratuitous, never hidden.
WHAT WE ARE NOT
This is not an argument. It is a record. We are not affiliated with any political party, government body, or advocacy organization. Sinclair Studios receives no funding tied to how this history is framed.
